Yes: CRESCENDO.
October 19, 2010
As it gets closer to CRESCENDO's release date, I'll be revealing more about the book, including an official summary and the cover. Right now, all I'm saying is that readers will find out what really happened the night Nora's dad was murdered. Let's just say he was living a secret life...one with ties to Patch...
The model's name is Drew Doyon.
About a week before the photo shoot, my editor emailed me photos of several models, and asked me to select the ones I thought best portrayed Patch and Nora. The moment I saw Drew Doyon, I knew he had to be Patch. Obviously I knew there was a good chance there might be models on the cover, but that's about all I knew. I didn't attend the photo shoot, and when my editor emailed me the final cover, I screamed. I hadn't been expecting such a fantastic, dynamic shot. I love my cover! Many, many thanks to James Porto, the photographer, and Simon & Schuster's design team.
When I started writing Hush, Hush, I knew I wanted Patch to be the ultimate bad boy...but with a twist. He hadn't always been bad. In fact, at one point, he'd been really good, and something had caused this big change. While pondering what had caused Patch's fall from grace, the metaphor of “falling” that I was carrying around in my head became something quite literal – a fallen angel. Since I already knew Patch was going to be the ultimate bad boy, this revelation seemed perfect – after all, fallen angels are the original bad boys.
Patch's character was inspired by a guy I knew a long time ago. And that's all I'm going to say about that!
You'll find out in Crescendo :)
When Dabria tells Patch that Nora's is on the shortlist for death, his expression reveals “disbelief mixed with annoyance.” At this point in the story, Patch has already marked Nora as his sacrifice, and he doesn't know if Nora is in danger from him, or someone else. Which forces Patch to ask Dabria the name of the individual who wants Nora dead. He needs to know if there is someone else after her, too. If someone else is after her, or if there's another reason why she might die soon, he knows he needs to work quickly.
The day a Nephil swears fealty is the day he/she stops aging.
Yes.
No, Nora is not immortal. Only first-generation Nephilim are. After that first generation, children born to a Nephil would have traits far more close to their human parent than their Nephil one. Nora's Nephilim blood traces all the way back to Chauncey, who was born in the 16th century. After hundreds of years, her Nephilim blood is considerably thinned out. The only thing separating her from any other girl is her blood disorder (hence the reason she takes iron) and the strange marking on her wrist.
Yes. Stranger things have been known to happen.
Yes, he did.
Let's just say he returns in CRESCENDO...
